About PeacePath Counseling
PeacePath Counseling was launched in August 2025 with a simple mission: to provide compassionate, collaborative therapy that’s accessible and affordable. We believe everyone deserves support for their mental and emotional well-being, and our goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where healing is possible—without the barriers that often make therapy feel out of reach. In addition to therapy, we provide education and information about coping skills and mental health to empower clients in their everyday lives. Think of us as a private practice, but with affordability, understanding, and learning at the heart of everything we do.
Our Story
PeacePath Counseling was born from a simple but important observation: many people need therapy, but for too many, it feels out of reach. Since 2018, LaShell Haynes, LPC-Associate, supervised by Kimberly Harkey, has been working with clients from diverse backgrounds, often witnessing the barriers they faced in accessing consistent, long-term mental health care. She saw how financial struggles could prevent people from getting the support they needed, even when therapy could make a life-changing difference. This observation inspired LaShell to create PeacePath Counseling in August 2025. This practice is built on compassion, accessibility, and collaboration. Her goal was to offer therapy that is affordable, flexible, and tailored to each client’s needs, without sacrificing quality or care. At PeacePath Counseling, clients can have open conversations about cost, explore practical coping skills, and receive support in a safe, welcoming space.PeacePath Counseling exists because everyone deserves the chance to prioritize their mental health, without letting financial barriers get in the way.
Modalities of Therapy

Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing is an important part of therapy that focuses on your voice. It helps build trust and understanding, supports you in recognizing your strengths, and helps you decide when you’re ready for change. Motivational interviewing allows your therapist to respect your choices and encourages you to take an active role in your therapy.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is used in therapy sessions to help the client recognize and understand patterns in their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be holding them back. Together, you and your therapist can work to identify unhelpful or negative thought patterns and replace them with more helpful ones.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is used to create a practical and supportive framework that helps you grow in different areas of your life. DBT focuses on building skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Together, these skills can help you better understand your emotions, manage stress more effectively, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

Cultural Considerations
At PeacePath Counseling, I strive to create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space for all clients. I am LGBTQ+ friendly and respect the unique experiences and identities of every individual.

I also recognize the important role that faith and spirituality can play in people’s lives. My master’s degree was earned at a faith-focused Christian university, which gives me a foundation to thoughtfully integrate religious or spiritual perspectives into therapy when desired. Together, we can tailor support to align with your values and beliefs while keeping your needs and goals at the center.

Above all, my goal is to meet you where you are, honoring your identity, culture, and worldview as part of your journey to healing and peace. My role as your therapist is never to judge, but to support you in becoming the most authentic version of yourself.
